Trust Means Speed!
10/19/04
David Dunkel, CEO of Kforce, shares something often forgotten but immediately appreciated: "The fastest way to do business is based on trust. The best human technology is a network built on trust. Speed happens when you trust the people you work with!"
Trust means you don't have to have commitments signed in triplicate and checked by legal before you can act. Trust is built on promising and delivering on promises. Trust is built when you take accountability for your mistakes and make it right before others even notice. Trust comes in looking out for the needs of partners even when it may result in unanticipated costs. Trust comes from caring enough to confront problems honestly before they become big problems. Trust means no surprises--You talk to people instead of talking about people. Trust takes years to build and only moments to lose. Treasure trust before you lose it. If there are apologies that need to be made or messages that need to be given, take the initiative to start a dialogue on the status of your "trust account!"
A PAULSON QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"Trust takes years to build and only moments to lose. Treasure trust before you lose it." --Terry Paulson, Ph.D.
MONDAY'S MIRTHFUL MOMENT
My long-time friend and colleague, Bill Bradley, supplies this week's humor—Groaners…you just may have to laugh at it...painfully!
Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married.
The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent. Two hydrogen atoms walk into a bar. One says, "I've lost my electron." The other says, "Are you sure?" The first replies, "Yes, I'm positive..."
Two cannibals are eating a clown. One says to the other:
"Does this taste funny to you?"An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids were nothing to look at either.
Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.
Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly; but when they lit a fire in the craft, it sank, proving that you can't have your kayak and heat it too.
Two termites walk into a bar. One asks, "Is the bar tender here?"
When you keep your eyes open for mirth, you just may find it! Hope this kicks off your morning and helps get your mood adjusted for the week. Now, get busy MAKING CHANGE WORK and have some fun along the way!...
